Volunteer
Your gift of time is worth thousands to us.
The Museum of Tulsa History volunteers are known as Guardians. Guardians support our mission by helping staff with daily operations, educational programs, and special projects. Service as a Guardian gives you an opportunity to broaden your knowledge of Tulsa’s history, engage with the community, and join a friendly committed group of people who share a passion for Tulsa.
Right now we are looking for extra help welcoming visitors at our front desk, answering phones and compiling Tulsa facts for social media.
What does a Guardian do?
Volunteers serve in some of the following roles:
Community Ambassador
Front Desk Greeter
Tour Docent
School Program Assistant
Special Event Assistant
Education Room and Gallery Docent
Oral History Interviewer
History Presentation Presenter
How do you benefit?
Guardians go on several trips throughout the city, learning about Tulsa history, and exploring other museums and locations. They also host guest speakers and enjoy social events exclusively for volunteers. Be among the first to know about new exhibits and programs at the museum.
Become a Guardian
Guardians must be at least 18 and be available to work at least once a month. Ongoing training and educational opportunities are provided. Please email info@tulsahistory.org or call 918-712-9484 to request that an application be sent to you.
