Description: Phil Morgans retired from the Tulsa Fire Department as Chief in 2003. He tells of the 3 Minute goals for the fire department, and the training changes over the decades. The firemen may be 56 Hour Guys, they wear Bunkers, and their holidays are not always the same as other people. Each station works as a family to make living-style decisions. Phil served under two black captains---Merle Stripling and Mike Conley and today a woman is on the deputy fire chief list. He discusses how technology has changed life for firemen and how he implemented using alternate radio channels for communicating so that all 5 districts are on the same channel.
