Author Dale Lewis

Lewis’ book is about the life of Damon “Chub” Anderson and his role in the unsolved murder of prominent Oklahoma rancher E.C. Mullendore III. On September 26, 1970 Mullendore was killed in his home on the vast Cross Bell Ranch in Osage County. Although Anderson was in the house with him at the time, he was never charged with the murder. In the following years both the murder and Anderson’s own life took on a mythic quality.

Footprints in the Dew tells the story of what really happened on the night of the murder as well as the events of Anderson’s life before and afterwards. Anderson collaborated on the project until his death in 2010.

New Book: Before the Dew: A Memoir

Books will be available for sale at the film showing.

Just released, Before the Dew: A Memoir brings you the story behind the story, following in Lewis’ footsteps from his small town upbringing in 1950s Oklahoma to his extensive travels around the country and his eventual chance encounter with Damon “Chub” Anderson.

That meeting led to Lewis’ book about Anderson’s life of and his role in the unsolved murder of prominent Oklahoma rancher E.C. Mullendore III. Since its publication in 2015, the book has been consistently included on the Oklahoman’s list of bestselling books. Before the Dew includes new letters and other information related to Chub Anderson as well as Lewis’ personal photos.
