Fishing the Arkansas River is a series of black and white photographs documenting people engaged in the sport of fishing. Tulsans have long been connected to the Arkansas River. While the city has grown steadily along the shoreline, the river remains largely unchanged. Perhaps without realizing it, the photographic subjects are connecting with the river in the most traditional way possible: fishing.
Fishing the Arkansas River is an honest, spare, direct look at the river and the people who gravitate to its waters. All photographs were taken with a Hasselblad 501 C/M camera using Ilford 100 film. No corrections, cropping or digital manipulation exist in the images.
