Jeff Stava was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2019

Jeff has always had a passion for community service and the outdoors. He became an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member in the Order of the Arrow.  And after graduating from Jenks and then Baylor, Jeff returned to Tulsa honing his business, marketing and sales skills in the outdoor industry he loved.  Jeff started with Lowrance Electronics in Tulsa and then with Johnson Outdoors in Wisconsin.

Returning to Tulsa in 1996, Jeff became the President of Outdoor Innovations/Terminator Titanium Lures, which he and his investors sold in 2006.

Jeff joined the Tulsa Community Foundation team in 2008 and since that time has helped guide the strategic vision for the foundation, as well as overseeing its operation.

In addition to his role as COO, Jeff serves on the George Kaiser Family Foundation’s leadership, overseeing the Vibrant and Inclusive Tulsa team that focuses on the foundation’s civic enhancement, place making, economic development, talent recruitment and retention, beautification and arts investments.  He also is the Executive Director and Trustee for Tulsa’s Gathering Place, LLC; overseeing design and construction of the 100-acre, $465 million river front park. Among many national honors, the park was recently named USA Today’s top new attraction for 2019, one of Time Magazine’s 100 Greatest Places in the world and awarded Urban Land Institute’s Global Excellence award, the first for a park. 

Jeff loves Tulsa. Not only is it his day job to work on projects to make his hometown a more thriving city, but he is also a dedicated community volunteer serving in such capacities as the chair of the Airport Improvement Trust; vice chair of the Tulsa Metro Chamber Executive Board of Directors; Catholic Charities Board of Governors; Executive Board member of Boys Scouts of America Indian Nations Council; and Board of Directors and member of Young Presidents Organization.  Jeff has also served as past chairs of Tulsa’s Future regional economic development program and the VisiTulsa Regional Tourism Executive Board of Directors as well as being a graduate of Leadership Tulsa Class 28. 

Jeff and his wife, Susie, have two sons, Will and Luke, who enjoy the outdoors with their dad.  Jeff is also a NASCAR fan and enjoys relaxing with family and friends at Grand Lake.

Susan Neal was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2019

Susan began her career in Washington, DC where she eventually served as chief of staff to Congressman Mickey Edwards prior to her recruitment as a house and senate lobbyist for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). Upon her return to Tulsa in 1984, she served as vice president of Downtown Tulsa Unlimited for seven years in community and economic development. 

Upon the arrival of her first child, Susan served as executive director of Tulsa’s oldest arts festival, Mayfest for four years.  In 2002, she successfully ran for District 9 City Council, serving two terms while also serving as the Director of Jumpstart, Tulsa’s comprehensive early childhood education campaign at the Community Service Council. This work led her to serve on Mayor Kathy Taylor’s Management Team as Director of Community Development and Education, which she continued for Mayor Dewey Bartlett. In her years at City Hall, Susan is most proud of her role in securing funding for and leading PlaniTulsa, an historic update of Tulsa’s comprehensive plan and the agreement between the City and the University of Tulsa for the management of Gilcrease Musuem.     

In 2010, Susan joined The University of Tulsa where she serves as Vice President of Public Affairs.  In addition to this role, she also serves as Executive Director of Gilcrease Museum and the Helmerich Center for American Research. 

As a board member of the Child Abuse Network, Susan successfully led a two year coalition to secure statewide funding for multidisciplinary child abuse investigation teams.  Throughout her career, she has served on a number of non-profit boards associated with children’s issues, education, public policy and the arts. 

Susan holds a bachelors of arts in Political Science from Oklahoma State University.  She and her husband, Rick, have two sons, Joe and Jack.

Joe Moran was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2019

When reviewing Joe Moran’s decades-long listing of work with non-profits, three things stand out:  longevity; capacity to lead capital campaigns; and ability to create and chair successful fundraising events.

Joe’s service to several boards and organizations is now approaching three decades.  He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Tulsa since 1988, and has served on Catholic Charities Board of Governors since 1995.   He was on the Monte Cassino Schools Board of Directors from 2000 to 2004. He has also been on the St. John Community Liaison Board since 2003, on the St. John Medical Center Board of Directors since 2006, serving as chairman since 2016.  In 2018, he joined the St. John Health System board.  From 2004 to 2008, Joe was a member of the Tulsa Library Trust board.  He was active on the Tulsa Boy’s Home Board of Directors from 2006 to 2016, and has been on the Board of Advisors for LIFE Senior Services since 2008. He also was on the Oklahoma Center for Non-Profits Board of Directors and the Leadership Oklahoma Board of Directors from 2007-2016.  He joined the Oklahoma Hall of Fame/Gaylord-Pickens Museum Board to Directors in 2010, where he is still active. 

While on the Monte Cassino Schools Board of Directors from 2000 to 2004, he co-chaired the $5.6 million capital improvements and endowment program in 2001.  A member of the Tulsa Library Trust board from 2004 to 2008, Joe was a member of the capital campaign committee that raised $19 million for the construction of two new libraries. In 2005, he co-aired the $6.7 million campaign for capital improvements, endowment, scholarship and technology program for Bishop Kelly High School.  While on the Catholic Charities Board of Governors, Joe was instrumental in creating the vision for the new campus concept, and donated the land. For the Tulsa Boy’s Home, he chaired the capital campaign for the $1 million Equine Therapy Center, and in 2012, chaired the $2.6 capital campaign for school renovation and enhancement. In 2013, he chaired the $4 million PACE campaign for LIFE Senior Services.

Joe has chaired and founded numerous signature fundraising events that are still thriving.  Among them are St. John’s “Street Party” in 2006; Tulsa Boys Home “Run for the Roses” in 2007; Catholic Charities “Cooking up Compassion” in 2007 and 2008; Oklahoma Center for Non-Profits “ONE Awards” in 2008 and 2009;  Rotary Club of Tulsa “Iba Awards Banquet” in 2009;  LIFE Senior Services “Puttin’ on the Dog” in 2010; Leadership Oklahoma “Excellence in Leadership Gala and Awards”  in 2011; Tulsa Area YWCA’s “Wine, Women & Shoes” in 2010 and 2011; and the 2010 and 2012 Oklahoma Hall of Fame

Madeline Manning Mims was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2019

Named one of America’s Outstanding Young Women, Madeline is a Gold and Silver Olympic Medalist in track.

She pioneered the 800-meter run for the United States by being the first (and at present) the only American woman to bring back a Gold Medal in this event, along with the Olympic Record, World Record and American Record, which she held for 15 years.

She has been a member of four Olympic Teams for the United States, spanning a 16-year international career.

As a speaker and leader among world athletes, Madeline has shared her personal testimony at the White House and on the steps of the Capitol in response to the Presidential address to the Olympians and American people.

Among the many Halls of Fame into which Madeline has been inducted, included are the National and Olympic Halls of Fame.  At the 2000 Sydney Olympics, she was honored as an Olympic Legend in the stadium.

She is founder and president of the United States Council for Sports Chaplaincy and has served as a chaplain at the 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. She also served six years as a chaplain to the WNBA Shock basketball team.

Madeline earned a bachelor of science degree in Sociology from Tennessee State University, a Masters of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry degree from Oral Roberts University, and an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree from ORU.  She is a recipient of the “2015 Lifetime Global Achievement Award” from ORU. She taught Bible and coached track at Metro Christian Academy.

Madeline is an author, international speaker, contemporary Gospel recording artist, and Tulsa Jazz Hall of Famer.  Her ministries are AMBASSADORSHIP, INC, and USCSC, INC.

She resides in Tulsa with husband, Roderick. They have two adult children, John and Lana.

Juley Roffers & Jim Langdon were inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2019

Jim and Juley met in Oklahoma City on a blind date in 1983.  At the time, Juley was practicing law and Jim was working for the Oklahoma Press Association, the state’s newspaper association (OPA).  Their first date was attending OPA’s annual dinner, where Juley also met Jim’s parents who were attending as publishers.

Both had graduated from the University of Oklahoma, though their paths never knowingly crossed in Norman.  Jim had four sisters; Juley three brothers.  Both their families loved cooking and gathering together.  Both loved their work, and each had a dream of living in New York City one day.

After marrying later that year, the couple fulfilled their dream and moved to New York City in May, 1984 where Jim was hired as the President of a branch of the National Newspaper Association.  In July, their first child, Emily, was born.

Jim and Juley moved to Tulsa in 1986.  Juley immediately resumed her practice of oil and gas law, and Jim developed the idea of starting a publishing company Jim dove head-first into the work of bootstrapping a small business; endeavoring to create a city magazine for a city in which he had lived only a few months.  TulsaPeople’s first issue was published in November.  In 1988, the couple’s son, John, was born.

Juley practiced law for the next 10 years.  Though the couple has always co-owned Langdon Publishing (LP), Jim was the one who devoted the time and energy to growing it into a solid company.  Today, LP also publishes The Tulsa Voice, Intermission magazine, the Tulsa Guest Guide, digital products and custom publications.

About 20 years ago, Juley joined Jim at LP and her assistance enabled the company to achieve significant expansion.  Over the latter half of the company’s existence, TulsaPeople has earned 192 awards for journalism excellence, including three national awards.  The Tulsa Voice and Intermission are also award-winning publications.  Following in his father’s footsteps, Jim was inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame in 2006.

Juley and Jim have been privileged to serve on many non-profit boards, committees and vestries, and have co-chaired multiple fundraising events.  Juley’s idea in 2007, “Cooking for a Cause”, is now the signature annual fundraiser for Iron Gate. Jim has been honored with Leadership Tulsa’s Paragon Award.  TulsaPeople is a recipient of the prestigious Pillar Award presented by the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, an award presented only in the years the organization believes an individual or company has earned the honor.
