Nancy McDonald was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2018

When Nancy came to Tulsa in 1966, she set right to work blazing trails in many different sectors.  As a parent of school age children, her first focus was to help integrate Tulsa Public Schools, even though it was a decade after the Supreme Court ruling in Brown v. Board of Education. In 1975, she began a career with Tulsa Public Schools that lasted until 1990.  During her tenure, she introduced the magnet school concept, and worked with Booker T. Washington High School’s principal and community leaders to lay the foundation that elevated the school to its current stature.  She also was one of five invited to participate in the White House Symposium on Education and Corporate Engagement, now known as “Partners in Eduation.”  

Nancy served on the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma board for 16 years, including five years as President.  She lead the Council through the tragedy of the Camp Scott murders in 1977.  

When one of her daughters came out as lesbian in 1987, Nancy founded the Tulsa Chapter of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG).  She went on to serve the organization regionally and nationally, including as National President from 1996 to 1998.  She also testified to Congress to defeat the Defense of Marriage Act and has helped pass legislation to prevent discrimination and protect LGBTQ students from bullying.

Nancy’s extensive board service includes being the first female on the boards of Tulsa Boys’ Home and the Thornton Family YMCA.  She also helped found Children’s Consortium; Gay and Lesbian Fund of Tulsa; Leadership Tulsa; Living Arts; Tulsa CARES; Tulsa Global Alliance; and Tulsa Reaches OUT.  Nancy’s other board service spans the community from organizations in the arts, child and teen welfare, education, HIV/AIDS, human rights, race relations, social justice and women’s empowerment.

Nancy and her husband of 60 years, Joe, are the parents of four, have eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and include the Zack Jones family of five as part of the McDonald family.

Phyllis & Guy Logsdon were inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2018

After moving to Tulsa in 1967 with their four daughters, Guy and Phyllis Logsdon became steeped in the culture, art and music of Tulsa. Both are native Oklahomans: Guy from Ada and Phyllis from Okemah.

Guy completed his doctorate from the University of Oklahoma and was the youngest library director of a major university in the nation when he took over at the University of Tulsa. He authored numerous books including the “The University of Tulsa: A History, 1882-1972.” Phyllis graduated with her doctoral degree from the University of Tulsa. She taught at Patrick Henry Elementary and Holland Hall while also co-authoring the teachers’ guide, “Positively Kindergarten.”

With a mutual love of music and Oklahoma history, Guy and Phyllis started performing together early in their marriage. Using a mix of humor, folk music and lore, they performed throughout the state. Over the last few years, they were a favorite at the annual Woody Guthrie Festival in Okemah, singing Guthrie’s children’s songs.

The couple was unrelenting in their efforts to achieve recognition of Woody Guthrie’s Oklahoma roots and music. Their legacy is evident in the ongoing Woody Guthrie Festival and their support of the Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa. Guy wrote the liner notes for the Woody Guthrie compilation CDs produced by Smithsonian Folkways. And he co-authored “Woody’s Road; Woody Guthrie’s Letters Home, Drawings, Photos, and Other Unburied Treasures” with Mary Jo Guthrie Edgmon, Woody’s youngest sister.

Phyllis still enjoys volunteering as a docent at Gilcrease Museum and has served as President of The Gillies board. She served on the board of the TU Alumni Association and still regularly gives historical tours of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.

Guy served on the board of the Oklahoma Historical Society for over a decade until his death in 2018. He also served as a board member of the National Fiddlers Hall of Fame. The Tulsa State Fair Fiddlers Contest was started by Guy in 1972.

Both credited each other for their success but it was Guy and Phyllis as a team that made their relationship unique. They celebrated their 64^th wedding anniversary shortly before his death.

“This is a wonderful honor and I know Guy would be proud,” said Phyllis.

Ken Lackey was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2018

Ken Lackey has lived in Tulsa for more than 50 years. During that time he served in executive positions for several well-known Tulsa companies including Skelly Oil Company, KinArk Corporation, Flint Industries, and NORDAM. He was President of Flint Industries from 1985 to 1995; CEO of NORDAM from 2002 until 2009 and its Executive Chairman until 2011, and is currently its Non-Executive Chairman.

While continuing to maintain his primary residence in Tulsa, Ken served in Governor Frank Keating’s administration from 1995 until 1999; first as Secretary of Health and Human Services and subsequently, as Chief of Staff.

After leaving state government, Ken served from 1999 until 2001 as the first President of the University of Oklahoma -Tulsa and as a Senior Vice President for the OU System. In that capacity, he was responsible for OU’s acquisition of the Amoco Research Center which was subsequently named the Schusterman Campus.

He has been Chairman of the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce, St. John’s Health System, and the Helmerich Author Selection Committee Award and currently serves on the boards of Aaon Inc., St. John’s Health System, and NORDAM and is an Advisory Director of Commerce Bank- Tulsa.

Previously he served on the Boards of Matrix Service Company and Public Service Company of Oklahoma. He represented Oklahoma as a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Economic Advisory Council, was a member of the Oklahoma Commission for Human Services and the Tulsa-Rogers County Port Authority.

Ken was born in Jackson, Mississippi and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from the University of Mississippi. He also holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

From 1967 to 1969 Ken was an officer in the U.S. Army, and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.

He is married to Carol and has a daughter, Lynne.

Chester (Chet) Cadieux III was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2018

Chester (Chet) Cadieux III, a Tulsa native, is the Chairman and CEO of QuikTrip Corporation, a regional gasoline/convenience store operation based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  The company was founded in 1958 by his father, Chester Cadieux II and is now the 33^rd largest privately-held company in the United States.  For 15 consecutive years, QuikTrip has been included on Fortune’s list of “100 Best Companies to Work for in America.”         

With annual sales of $10 billion, QuikTrip operates 772 stores primarily in Tulsa, Kansas City, Wichita, Des Moines, St. Louis, Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix, Tucson, Greenville, SC and Charlotte, NC.  Nearly sixty percent of QuikTrip’s 20,000 employees work full-time. 

Chet graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Tulsa in 1989.  He began his full-time career with QuikTrip on the graveyard shift and rose through the ranks to Store Manager position.  Chet also served as a Real Estate Manager and Vice President/Sales in the QuikTrip Corporate organization.  Chet became President/CEO in 2002 and Chairman in 2006.  He celebrated his 29^th year of service with QuikTrip in August 2018. 

In October 2012, Chet was honored as a University of Tulsa Distinguished Alumni, and in November 2016, he was inducted to the Convenience Store News Hall of Fame. 

Besides serving as Chairman of QuikTrip Corporation’s board, Chet has also served as Chairman of the Tulsa River Parks Authority Board in 2010, as Chairman for The Tulsa Metro Chamber of Commerce for 2007, and as Chairman of the Board for Tulsa Area United Way for 2013. Chet is also a Director on the following Boards: Sheetz, Inc. of Altoona, Pennsylvania; Bank of Oklahoma N.A., Tulsa, OK;  The University of Tulsa; George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF), Tulsa, OK; and The Committee of One Hundred, Tulsa, OK.  Chet has also served as past board member of the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) 2003-2004, and Tulsa Community Foundation. 

He is married, has two children, and enjoys auto racing and snow skiing. 

Steve Bradshaw was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2018

Steve Bradshaw was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and spent all but 18 months of his childhood in that community. The exception is when he lived in The Hague, Netherlands from 1969 to 1970. Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, graduating in 1982. Steve opened the first retail securities firm within a financial institution in Oklahoma after college. He was then recruited by the largest savings and loan in Oklahoma, Sooner Federal, to develop a similar program.

After Sooner Federal was sold to an out of state institution, Steve started his own retail investment firm with 7 employees. In 1991, Steve sold his ownership in the firm to BOK Financial, a newly formed holding company for Bank of Oklahoma. Steve worked to build the securities firm within BOK Financial, and over time assumed various leadership roles throughout the company. In 1999, Steve graduated with distinction from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

In January of 2014, Steve was named president and CEO of BOK Financial, a $34 billion bank holding company based in Tulsa.  Today, BOK Financial has over 5,200 employees with banking centers in eight states and multiple businesses that operate nationwide. Active in the community, Steve currently is the Chairman of the Tulsa Regional Chamber and is the former chairman of its convention and visitor’s bureau, Visit Tulsa. He is a past board member of Tulsa Community Foundation, Tulsa River Parks Authority, Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League, YMCA Tulsa, Tulsa Habitat for Humanity, and Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS). He also previously served as board chair for the Tulsa Area United Way and Junior Achievement of Tulsa. He is a current Trustee of the University of Tulsa. He also co-chaired  the citywide Tulsa Area United way campaign in 2016 and the 2011 Salvation Army dinner with his wife Marla, who is a very active community volunteer in her own right. Steve has two adult children and five grandchildren.

Steve’s interests outside of work and community include cooking for friends and charity events, escaping to wine country a few times a year with Marla, and attending major sporting events on his bucket list.
