Stephanie Seymour was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2016

Seymour attended Smith College, graduating magna cum laude and Phil Beta Kappa in 1962 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. She received her Juris Doctorate in 1965 from Harvard Law School. Moving to Tulsa in 1966, she was a partner in the firm of Doerner, Stuart, Saunders, Daniel & Anderson. Her commitment to equal protection under the law led her to serve on various panels, committees and commissions addressing discrimination against women. She was also instrumental in the incorporation of Tulsa’s Call Rape, Inc. in 1975.

In 1979, President Jimmy Carter appointed Seymour to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, becoming the first woman on that court. From January 1994 through December 2000, she served as the court’s first female Chief Judge. As Chief Judge, she was a member of the US. Judicial Conference, the administrative body of the federal courts presided over by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. At the behest of Chief Justice Rehnquist, she was the first female to preside over one of the sessions. Long interested in Native American rights, she served on the Joint Federal-Tribal Relations Committee of the Ninth and Tenth Circuits and was a founding member of the Oklahoma State-Federal-Tribal Judicial Council.

During her tenure as Chief Judge, it fell to her to select the trial judge to preside over the trials of Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols for the Murrah Federal Building bombing. She took senior status in 2005 and still carries both judicial and administrative duties for the court.

Seymour has received numerous awards and recognitions for her commitment to the law and the cause of justice. She was inducted into the Oklahoma Women’s Hall of Fame in 2005 and into The University of Tulsa College of Law Hall of Fame in 2013. She and her husband, Tom, have four children and 11 grandchildren.

Lilah Paul Marshall & John Marshall were inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2016

When the Great Depression hit, Henry Marshall used all of his family’s savings –$1.67– to turn his wife’s cottage industry of home baked sweet potato pies in Dallas, Texas into what is now known as The Bama Pie Company.

In 1931, 16-year-old Paul, the second youngest of the seven Marshall children, left high school to work full-time as a delivery driver for his parents. In 1935, he met and married Lilah, and they relocated to Tulsa to open a local branch of the company in 1937. They initially settled in a small house at 11th and Delaware, on Route 66, where they lived in the back and made pies in the front.

When his parents started the business, John, the oldest of three, was barely out of the oven himself. As a boy, he visited the plant daily and over the years, worked in just about every facet of it. Marshall graduated from Rogers High School in 1954 and attended Oklahoma State University, where he roomed with future OSU basketball coach Eddie Sutton.

Life changed for the company in the late 1960’s when his father landed an account with McDonald’s. Marshall retired in the mid-1980’s and his son took over the management of the McDonald’s account. The senior Marshall passed away in 1994, and his son in 2011. Mrs. Marshall passed away in 2012 at the age of 96. The three left not only a thriving business which employs more than 1,000, but a strong legacy of community commitment.

Cathy & Frank Keating were inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2016

Cathy Keating is a fourth generation Oklahoman whose great grandparents came on the 1894 Land Run. She has focused much of her energy throughout her life on community service, most prominently while First Lady of Oklahoma from 1995 to 2003. Governor Frank Keating was first elected in 1993 and re-elected in 1998, becoming only the second governor in Oklahoma history to serve two consecutive terms.
The Keatings were thrust into the international spotlight following the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. In the aftermath of this tragedy, she organized and implemented the international prayer service and later spent much of her time helping those affected. She authored a book: “In Their Name, the Oklahoma City Bombing”, which made the New York Times best seller list, and all proceeds were donated to Project Recovery. Governor Keating raised more than six million dollars to fund scholarships for the nearly 200 children left orphaned or with only one parent.

Governor Keating’s 30-year career in law enforcement and public service included service as an FBI agent; U.S. Attorney and state prosecutor and member of both the Oklahoma House and Senate, including as a Republican senate leader. After serving as Oklahoma’s 25th governor, Keating spent seven years as the President and CEO of the American Council of Life Insurers and then joined the American Bankers Association as President and CEO.

He is currently a senior partner in the international law firm of Holland & Knight. He is board chair of the Washington-based Bipartisan Policy Center. She currently serves on the boards of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, Friends of the Oklahoma Governor’s Mansion and is on the National Advisory Board of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, the Oklahoma City National Memorial and American Mothers, Inc. She is also in the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. Both she and Governor Keating have received numerous awards individually and as a couple.

The Keatings have three children and ten grandchildren.

Patty & Len Eaton were inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2016

Patty was born in New York City and is a graduate of Smith College. After graduation, she worked for IBM as a systems service analyst. Arriving in Tulsa in 1972 with her husband, Len, and their three children, she discovered there was no bus service to downtown. That marked the beginning of her involvement in the Tulsa community, leading to Mayor LaFortune appointing her to the Metropolitan Transit Authority Board in 1975. She soon became the Chair. In 1980, she was elected to the Tulsa City Commission as the Water and Sewer Commissioner. As one of five members, she was the only woman and served for six years. In 1986, she was a candidate for Mayor.

As a member of the Oklahoma Human Services Commission from 1986 to 1990, she actively worked to close the Hissom Center. Governor David Walter appointed her as the State’s first Secretary of Environment and, concurrently, the Director of the Oklahoma Water Resources Board. Under her guidance, the Oklahoma Department of Environment was created and signed into law in 1993. She has served as a board member and volunteer for numerous arts, civic and political organizations.

A graduate of Cornell University and The Harvard Business School PMD Program, Len is currently an owner of World Travel Service after retiring as Chairman and CEO of Bank of Oklahoma in 1991 and in 2001 as Director of Corporate Finance for the NORDAM Group. A nine-year member of the Oklahoma State Board of Regents for Higher Education, he served as its Chair in 2001. He was been on the board of and served as the Chairman of River Parks Authority, Oklahoma Nature Conservancy, Tulsa Chamber of Commerce, and the University Center of Tulsa. He also served on the boards of Hillcrest Medical Center, The University of Tulsa, The Center for Legislative Excellence, Lew Went Foundation at Oklahoma State University, Holland Hall School and the Oklahoma
School for Science and Mathematics Foundation.

He has served as a trustee of The Meadville Lombard Seminary at the University of Chicago, where he received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters in 2004. He is currently a board member of The Morningside Foundation and Tulsa Children’s Coalition.

The Eatons have five grandchildren.

Felicia Collins Correia was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 2016

Felicia Collins Correia served as the Executive Director of Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS) for 18 years and as CEO of YWCA Tulsa for 8 years. Originally from New York, she is a graduate of both the Columbia University School of Social Work as well as its School of Public Health. Collins Correia was influential in accomplishing significant systems change initiatives for domestic violence, ensuring Tulsa had a specialized domestic violence police unit, a specialized district attorney’s prosecution unit and a trained judiciary on the dedicated domestic violence docket. She also successfully merged Call Rape, a separate nonprofit organization, into DVIS in 2005.

Collins Correia was instrumental in securing one of the first 15 Domestic Violence Family Safety Centers in the country. She has served on numerous local non-profit boards and was selected to serve on the boards of two national organizations, the National Network to End Domestic Violence, for which she also served as Board Chair, and YWCA USA. Currently, Collins Correia serves as Secretary of the Board of the Oklahoma Policy Institute, as well as serving on the statewide Oklahoma Women’s Foundation Board of Directors.

Felicia and her husband, Peter, have been married for 31 years. They have one son, Peter IV, who lives in Michigan.
