John H. Williams was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 1993

John H. Williams has made contributions to Tulsa that are obvious from a glance at the city’s skyline.  His business acumen helped to make the Williams Companies one of the city’s most stable employers.  Institutions ranging from the Performing Arts Center to Philbrook Museum have succeeded due to his dedicated service.

George Renberg was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 1993

George Renberg is a part of the fabric of Tulsa.  The hallmark of quality in both merchandise and service that Renberg’s is known for, embody similar qualities found in Tulsa for over seventy-five years.  The Renberg tradition of presenting opportunities to people from all areas of the city initiated innumerable successful careers.

James M. Hewgley, Jr. was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 1993

James M. Hewgley, Jr. epitomizes the term “public service.”  In addition to almost 50 years of successful drilling and oil production, Mr. Hewgley has devoted his time and energy to civic matters.  He served as mayor from 1966 to 1970 and has contributed his leadership qualities to numerous government, political and philanthropic organizations.

Peggy Helmerich was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 1993

Peggy V. Helmerich traded stardom in Hollywood to play a starring role in service to Tulsa.  The annual award to distinguished American authors which carries her name has not only benefited the growth of the City-County Library System, but also placed Tulsa at the forefront of the American literary scene.  Mrs. Helmerich’s warmth, wit, and grace are assets she willingly shares with the entire community.

Amos T. Hall was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame in 1993

Amos T. Hall pursued a law career that led him to landmarks in legal history.  His advocacy of equal opportunity led to the integration of the University of Oklahoma.  With Mr. Hall’s election as an associate district judge he became the first African-American to serve on the bench in Oklahoma.
