The unique work of Oklahoma City artist Eric Humphries is featured in exhibits depicting two of the worst moments in Oklahoma history.
One series of paintings “Is the Whole World on Fire?” takes visitors on a chronological walk through the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot through the use of text and painted images, as well as actual historical photos of the event. “:03 Minutes in American History” retells the story of the Oklahoma City Bombing.
Humphries paintings are described as being allegorical, depicting true life historical events as seen through the eyes of the artist. His artistic style is based on years of copying comic books and cartoons as well as the desire to create socially conscious art.
